Love Who You Are | Holy Hygge for the Soul

Do you love who you are? Honestly? Do you look in the mirror and love every thing you see? Do you think fondly of yourself and your personality? What does your inner dialogue sound like? Is it truly loving and accepting of yourself? I wish, more than anything, that I could tell you today that I love who I am. It would be a lie. I am, in essence, a beautiful woman on the inside. My heart carries more love than you can imagine. My soul seeks to please the Father in everything I do but I fall short when it comes to being loving and accepting of the body I have.  I have a beautiful face and at one time I had a beautiful body.  I had it all but I didn’t take care of it because this world tore me down. I was never enough, even when I was a size 4 and modeling. This world has tricked both men and women into believing that a woman is only worthy when she is thin. Its a sick trick brought on by the devil to destroy the spirit of women everywhere and today, well I’m just not going to stand for it anymore.

We are enough because the Father says we are, regardless of what any man, social media, magazine or television show thinks or portrays.

I believe it is time to see the truth, accept it and be loving toward ourselves regardless of what anyone says or does. I know. It is difficult when there is so much pressure from society to look a certain way in order to gain acceptance and love. Believe me. I know. Just hear me out though:

Daughters of the One True King are not of this world. Hear me again. You are not of this world.

We do not follow the worldly description of beauty. We are not held to their standards. Our Father has set forth His own standards and our only concern should be that we are pleasing and beautiful to the Father. Are we responsible for the care of our bodies? Absolutely. Our bodies are our temples and we should care for them as such. We should strive for health and deliver up our bodies as a living sacrifice to our Father Yahuah. We should not, however, at any time, be ashamed or feel broken because the worldly description of beauty is trying to tear us down.

1 Samuel 16:7 says “But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”  Men are going to look at our outward appearance. It is what it is. They  lust after the worldly description of beauty. That is why pornography is rampant and why men have set standards on their hearts that most women cannot ever reach. Standards that came from looking at photoshopped unrealistic photos of women in advertising and social media. They believe they should “have it all” because the world says they can. That is a worldly view.  That is also not our battle but theirs. Our battle lies in overcoming the shame, the hurt, the guilt and the anxiety that comes from the unpleasant responses we receive when we do not look like this world says we should.

Friends, Yahuah looks at our hearts and that is ALL we need to be worried about. We don’t need to feel pressured to look a certain way in order to fit molds a broken society has created. Romans 12:2 tells us not to conform to this world. This world shames any woman who does not fit the societal trend of beauty and we must no longer stand for that. We stand in the truth that our Father Yahuah says we are loved (John 3:16), accepted (Romans 15:7), wonderfully made, (Psalm 139:14) and adoringly chosen and loved by the living Father (Ephesians 1:4, Colossians 3:12).

Beauty, in our Father’s eyes is compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. (Colossians 3:12) Beauty is living out the fruits of the Spirit with a deep desire to please our Creator in thankfulness for His unfailing love. Beauty is found in the soul, not the body. My sisters, when this world tries to bring you down because your tummy is too chubby or your thighs rub together, when your arms are flabby and you just can’t seem to get to that ideal weight, I challenge you to remember whose you are. You, my dear sisters, are beautiful in the Fathers eyes. No man can take that joy from you. You cannot, and will not, take that joy from yourself when you are standing firm on the truth El Shaddai.

When we are living on the firm foundation of truth we will want to take care of our bodies and most of us will succeed, yet there will be times when we fall short because this world gives us things like disease, suffering, stress hormones and an abundance of foods that are literally killing us inside and out. It also feeds us lies that “liberate” us from our own responsibilities as daughters of the Most High. In all of this we are set up to “fail” according to worldly standards so that the devil can hook us into believing we are less than and therefore not worthy. No matter what your body looks like, whether you are too skinny, too fat, too whatever…know that you are always worthy of the grace, mercy and love of Jehovah Nissi and when you wear Him as your banner your hope and your beauty will never fail.

So love who you are beauties. You are the daughters of the Most High King. It doesn’t get any better than that my sisters!
