Test Everything | Holy Hygge for the Soul

“but test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good.” 1 Thessalonians 5:21

In this verse Paul is telling the Thessalonians to pay attention to prophesy, not to despise it. He tells them to examine every prophecy to determine whether it is valid. Looking for the validity would prove which was from God and which was not. When I read this verse the thought occurred to me that this is good advice for us all and not just about prophesy. Maybe, just maybe, we should test all things before we say or do. If it proves to be good then let it out, if not, keep it in and give it to God.

In every given day we have choices to make. Our husbands will try us. Our kids will push our buttons. Our coworkers will annoy us. Our bosses will stress us. This world is full of anger right now and strangers will push our limits. The point is: are we going to respond lovingly or not. If we choose to to take a moment to think before we respond and we respond instead of react we can know that we have given our best in line with how the Father wants us to treat the people in our lives.

Today, test your thoughts and actions by making sure they are in line with what Jesus would do. Be truthful with yourself and if you see that it is good, by all means, respond in love! If not. Stop for a moment. Walk away if you need to. Take a few deep breaths and when you have prayed and given it to God, return and respond with good intention and love. This is the ultimate in giving God everything. This is giving Him your thoughts, your actions and your heart so that He can work boldly in your life. This is where true change begins in our lives.

The moment we choose to think of God first we have chosen Him and He will bring positive results!

Right now. Today. You have a choice. You can give Yahuah everything and in doing so your life will exponentially change for the better. Pause. Reflect. Test its validity to the word of God. Respond in love. It is a choice you will never regret because in that moment Yahuah, the God of creation, will bring good to the situation.
